Working & finishing
For best results, we recommend reviewing the HempWood® Machining Guide and Finishing Guide before cutting, sanding, or finishing your panels.
- Machining: use standard woodworking machinery; sharp carbide-tipped blades and bits are recommended.
- Sanding: progressively sand and finish around 120 grit or finer before applying stain or topcoat.
- Finishing: oil-based stains and high-quality clear finishes perform best; water-based stains tend to raise the grain and may require additional sanding.
