What’s Happening At HempWood

Report: Formaldehyde Increases Your Cancer Risk No Matter Where You Live

ProPublica recently revealed that formaldehyde, a common toxic chemical found in many building materials like particleboard and plastic, is so pervasive that it poses a health risk to nearly everyone in the United States. Authors Sharon Lerner and Al Shaw said, “The risk isn’t just to the workers using it; formaldehyde threatens everyone as it pollutes the air we all breathe and leaks from products long after they enter our homes. It is virtually everywhere.”

The good news? The Healthy Materials Lab at Parsons School of Design found in a 2021 case study that using sustainable materials like HempWood can reduce formaldehyde levels in the air by over 400%.
