Solid, machinable engineered hemp hardwood blocks for interior furniture and architectural woodworking.
HempWood® Blocks highlight the strength of our patented technology while bringing the raw character of hemp to interior projects. Each block is engineered in the USA from sustainable fiber hemp and a soy-based adhesive, creating a dense, durable hardwood alternative with a low-carbon footprint.
Use HempWood® Blocks for furniture builds, mantels, stair details, turning blanks, architectural accents, and custom millwork. Because you’re working with the material in its raw, solid form, the design possibilities are wide open.
For best results, review the HempWood® Machining Guide and Finishing Guide before you cut, sand, or finish your block.
Standard size
- 5.5" × 5.5" × 72" (≈ 139.7 mm × 139.7 mm × 1,829 mm)
Working and finishing
HempWood® is designed to be worked with standard woodworking tools.
- Sawing: use trim saw blades or other sharp carbide-tipped blades for clean cuts
- Sanding: sand to around 120 grit before applying finishes
- Staining: oil-based stains are optimal. Water-based products tend to raise the grain and may require additional sanding
- For detailed recommendations, refer to the HempWood® Machining Guide and HempWood® Finishing Guide
