HempWood® 48 Inch Boards put sustainability in your hands. Our hemp is grown within about 100 miles of our factory in Murray, Kentucky, then pressed using patented technology that bonds full-length hemp stalks with a soy-based adhesive with no added formaldehyde. The result is a dense, durable engineered hardwood board that’s ideal for shelving, cabinets, furniture parts, and maker projects.
HempWood® is designed as a viable replacement for traditional hardwoods like white oak in many interior, non-structural applications. You get the warmth and character of wood with a carbon-aware story and a modern emissions profile, built from a faster-growing feedstock.

Working and finishing
HempWood® 48 Inch Boards are designed to be worked with standard woodworking tools.
- Sawing: use sharp carbide-tipped blades for clean cuts
- Sanding: sand to around 120 grit before applying finishes
- Staining: oil-based stains are optimal. Water-based products tend to raise the grain and may require additional sanding
