Vinyl Declines
Atlanta, GA — May 22, 2023: Vinyl flooring imports saw a sharp decline in units in March, down 48.1% year over year (YOY), compared to only a 4.8% YOY decline in the prior month, according to Truist Securities.
Units from China, the largest source of material, was down over 50% YOY, while South Korea declined 18.2% YOY. U.S. Customs estimates roughly $40 million of flooring has been detained through early March from PVC-related goods imported under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA), which now requires further documentation.
